DELHI — Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu has praised the efforts of Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) in strengthening Delhi’s energy infrastructure and addressing recent gas supply challenges.

In a post on social media, Sandhu noted that IGL has played a significant role in expanding the Piped Natural Gas (PNG) network across Delhi, including extending connectivity to outer and rural areas. He подчеркнул that this expansion has helped improve access to clean and reliable energy for residents across different parts of the city.

He also highlighted the company’s constructive role in managing the recent gas shortage, stating that IGL worked closely with the Delhi government to ensure continuity of supply. Measures such as facilitating uninterrupted permissions, granting waivers on applicable charges, and accelerating PNG connections were ключевые steps in mitigating the impact of the shortage.

Sandhu further mentioned that he received a dividend cheque of ₹22.75 crore for the financial year 2025–26, reflecting the company’s financial contribution and operational performance.

Looking ahead, he expressed optimism about future collaboration, stating that he looks forward to deeper and more active engagement with IGL to further enhance Delhi’s welfare and energy security.

The Lieutenant Governor’s remarks underscore the importance of public-private partnerships in infrastructure development, particularly in essential sectors like energy where demand continues to grow rapidly.

Taranjit Singh Sandhu’s statement highlights IGL’s contribution to expanding energy access, addressing supply challenges, and supporting the broader goal of sustainable and secure energy for Delhi.
