The Bharatiya Janata Party commemorated its 47th Foundation Day on April 6 with grand celebrations held across the country, reflecting both its historic journey and its expanding political footprint.

Established in 1980 after emerging from the Janata Party split, the BJP has grown significantly over the decades. From winning just two seats in the 1984 Lok Sabha elections, the party has risen to lead the central government multiple times, notably in 1998, 2014, and 2019, and continues to play a dominant role in national politics through the National Democratic Alliance in 2024.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings to party workers on the occasion, recognizing their continuous efforts and dedication. He praised the cadre for their selfless service and steadfast commitment, stating that the party has always worked with the guiding principle of “India First.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and senior leader Devendra Fadnavis also highlighted the party’s extraordinary growth. They noted that the BJP has now become the world’s largest political organization, with a membership base exceeding 18 crore, showcasing its deep-rooted presence across the nation.

Across states, party workers celebrated the day by hoisting flags, organizing public outreach activities, and reaffirming their allegiance to the party’s ideology. The celebrations were marked by enthusiasm and a collective resolve to continue strengthening the party’s connection with the people.

Leaders emphasized the vision of building a developed India by 2047, aligning the party’s future goals with the nation’s long-term aspirations. The focus remained on inclusive development, strong governance, and sustained public service.

The Foundation Day served as both a reflection on the BJP’s remarkable rise and a reaffirmation of its future direction. From a modest beginning to becoming a central force in Indian politics, the party’s journey was presented as a symbol of determination, organizational strength, and ideological clarity.

As celebrations concluded, the message across the party remained clear — to continue working with dedication, uphold the principle of nation-first, and strive toward a stronger and more developed India in the years ahead.
