New Delhi, Delhi, India

A fresh political confrontation has erupted after senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament Ravi Shankar Prasad strongly criticized Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge over his alleged remarks concerning Gujarat.

Speaking in Delhi, Prasad questioned Kharge’s conduct and tone, accusing him of abandoning political decorum. “Has Mallikarjun Kharge, the national president of the Congress Party, abandoned all decorum?” he asked, expressing sharp disapproval.

He further objected to Kharge’s alleged statement about Gujarat, a state he described as historically significant and culturally rich. “The land of Gujarat, which has given birth to so many great people, has been called illiterate,” Prasad said, framing the comment as disrespectful to the state and its people.

Raising questions within the Congress leadership, Prasad also sought clarification from senior party figures. “Do Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra agree with this?” he asked, implying that the issue extends beyond an individual remark to the party’s broader stance.

Taking a more pointed tone, he accused the Congress of fostering division through such statements. “Do you want to divide the country? What has happened to the Congress Party?” he remarked, intensifying the criticism.

The exchange highlights the ongoing sharp political rhetoric between the BJP and Congress, with both sides frequently engaging in public criticism over statements, policies, and ideological positions.

Prasad’s remarks underscore the escalating war of words in national politics, where statements by senior leaders are quickly becoming flashpoints for broader political debates and confrontations.
