PM Modi to Visit Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka for Major Development Events on August 1

New Delhi: On August 1, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. In Andhra Pradesh, he will inaugurate the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport, lay the foundation stones for several key development projects worth over ₹17,900 crore, and dedicate certain projects to the nation. Subsequently, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre, ‘Vivek Smarak’, in Mysuru, Karnataka, and address public meetings at various locations.

Prime Minister in Andhra Pradesh :

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram in Andhra Pradesh. Developed on the PPP model at a cost of ₹5,640 crore, this greenfield airport will have an annual capacity of 60 lakh passengers.

The airport’s architectural design is inspired by the cultural heritage of Andhra Pradesh, reflecting elements of traditional ‘Chuttilu’ cottages and the Araku Valley. It is expected to boost tourism, trade, investment, employment, and regional air connectivity.

The airport will be equipped with modern facilities such as Airport AI, Building Information Modeling, Airside 4.0 technology, an Airport Predictive Operations Center, biometrics, automated baggage systems, intelligent operational monitoring solutions, and 5 MW solar power.

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the ASIP semiconductor project in Visakhapatnam, which is being developed with an investment of over ₹460 crore and lay the foundation stone for a ₹5,550 crore power transmission project to connect the 4.5 GW Kurnool-IV Renewable Energy Zone.

He will inaugurate major power transmission projects worth over ₹4,370 crore to strengthen the renewable energy evacuation system from the solar and wind energy zones of Kurnool and Anantapur, and will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for National Highway projects worth more than ₹1,880 crore, including four-lane greenfield highways and high-level bridges.

Prime Minister in Karnataka :

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre—Viveka Smarak at the Sri Ramakrishna Ashram in Mysuru. This centre has been built to commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s historic visit to Mysuru in November 1892. Spanning an area of ​​81,000 square feet, the centre will provide facilities for value-based education, leadership development, personality building, meditation, yoga, and competitive exam preparation for the youth.

Dedicated to the ideals of Swami Vivekananda, this cultural youth center will promote value-based education, leadership, and personality development, benefiting over 10,000 students and youths through training and capacity-building programs.

The Prime Minister’s visit is being viewed as a significant step towards strengthening air connectivity, the semiconductor industry, renewable energy, and road infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh, as well as fostering cultural and educational development in Karnataka.
