Indian Boys Dominate Asian U-15 Wrestling Championships with Four Gold Medals

Indian boys put up a stellar performance on the third day of the Under-15 Asian Wrestling Championship. They won 4 gold medals and secured a total of eight medals for the country in the men’s freestyle competition. By the end of the third day, India had bagged a total of 21 medals (8 gold, 6 silver, 7 bronze) at the Under-15 Championship.

Prathamesh S. Patil (52 kg), Naitik (62 kg), Keshav Harshad Chemte (75 kg), and Vivek Chauhan (85 kg) clinched gold medals in their respective weight categories, spearheading the Indian team’s stellar performance. In addition to these 4 gold medals, India also secured 1 silver and 3 bronze medals, claiming a spot on the podium in all eight weight categories contested that day.

In the finals, Prathamesh S. Patil defeated Japan’s Daichi Matsumi 10-0 by technical superiority, while Vivek Chauhan secured a 5-0 victory against Japan’s Taisei Suzuki. Naithik defeated Uzbekistan’s Ismoiljon Nazirjonov 8-6 in a closely contested bout, and Keshav Harshad Chemte maintained his composure to beat Kazakhstan’s Yersultan Suleiman 11-10 in a high-scoring, fiercely fought match.

Meanwhile, Nitesh (57 kg) won the silver medal after losing 2–10 to Japan’s Aiseb Gharehdaghi in the final.

India also won all its bronze medal bouts. Gautam (41 kg) defeated Hong Kong’s Shu Yan Sung by ‘fall’ with a score of 8–0, Vansh Ahlawat (44 kg) beat Tajikistan’s Yokub Dilshod Dilshozoda 12–4, and Arman (68 kg) defeated Turkmenistan’s Idris Melejayev 10–0 by technical superiority.
