Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday highlighted the significance of spiritual unity and peace, while addressing the occasion of Vishwa Navkar Mahamantra Divas in the national capital.

Commending the efforts of Jain International Trade Organization (JITO), Shah praised the initiative of organizing a large-scale chanting of the Navkar Mantra for global welfare. “I would like to congratulate JITO for chanting the peaceful Navkar Mantra from here on April 9th for the welfare of the entire world,” he said.

He emphasized that such spiritual efforts hold special importance in the current global climate. “At a time when the whole world is bent upon war to impose its will upon one another, this is truly most fitting,” Shah remarked, drawing a contrast between rising geopolitical tensions and the message of peace conveyed through religious practices.

The Navkar Mantra, one of the most revered chants in Jainism, is considered a universal prayer that promotes humility, harmony, and non-violence. The event witnessed participation from members of the Jain community and other attendees, reflecting a collective call for peace and spiritual well-being.

Shah’s remarks come against the backdrop of increasing global conflicts and diplomatic tensions, with several regions witnessing instability. His address underscored the relevance of India’s spiritual traditions in promoting values of coexistence and non-violence on the global stage.

He also noted that such initiatives not only strengthen cultural and religious harmony within the country but also send a broader message of peace to the international community.

The event highlighted how spiritual and cultural practices continue to play a role in advocating global peace, especially at a time when geopolitical conflicts dominate international discourse.
