Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the ‘Khelo India Dialogue’ via video conferencing on August 27 at 11:00 AM. Organized by ‘Mera Yuva Bharat’ (MY Bharat) as part of the National Sports Day celebrations, the event will see the participation of youths from two colleges in every district across all states and Union Territories of the country. The objective of the program is to connect the youth with India’s sporting journey, understand their aspirations, and incorporate their ideas into building a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) through youth leadership.
A Shared Platform for Sports and Nation-Building
The nationwide ‘Khelo India Dialogue’ will bring sports, youth leadership, civic duty, volunteering, fitness, and nation-building onto a common platform. This initiative aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of building a fit, disciplined, and sports-oriented nation while placing the aspirations of the youth at the core of national development.
Opportunity for Youth to Interact Directly with Athletes
Following the national-level event, dialogues will also be organized at the local level. These will involve young participants, MY Bharat volunteers, local athletes, and public representatives. A key feature of the initiative will be direct interaction between sports-loving youth and India’s prominent athletes and medal winners.
‘Yuva Samvad’ (Youth Dialogue) to Focus on Five Themes
The core of the program will be the ‘Yuva Samvad,’ offering young participants an opportunity to share their ideas, perspectives, and aspirations. Five key themes have been identified for the dialogue: Sports, Olympic Aspirations, Youth Leadership, Viksit Bharat (Developed India), and Drug-free Youth.
Emphasis on Strengthening the Sports Ecosystem
Under the first theme, discussions will focus on improving India’s sports ecosystem through better facilities, coaching, sports science, and inclusive participation. The aim is to explore measures to provide better opportunities and facilities for youth in sports.
Grooming Talent for the 2036 Olympics
The second theme will focus on preparing new athletes for the 2036 Olympics through scientific talent identification, transparent selection processes, and the long-term development of athletes. Initiative to Foster Youth Leadership
The third theme focuses on youth leadership. Emphasis will be placed on grooming new youth leaders and providing them with opportunities to actively participate in nation-building through the ‘Governance Platform’ and the volunteering campaigns of ‘Mera Yuva Bharat’.

The fourth theme involves discussions on empowering the youth to build a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) by fostering a sense of civic duty, equipping them with future-ready skills, and promoting organized volunteering.
Focus on the Drug-Free Youth Campaign
The fifth theme relates to the ‘Drug-Free Youth’ campaign. It emphasizes running a robust campaign against substance abuse by leveraging sports and peer networks. This initiative is further bolstered by weekly ‘Jan Bhagidari’ (people’s participation) events held as part of the Prime Minister’s 100-week nationwide campaign, which was launched on August 2, 2026.
