Dr. Virendra Kumar to Chair 5th NCSrC Meeting in Delhi; Senior Citizen Welfare in Focus

New Delhi: The 5th meeting of the National Council of Senior Citizens (NCSRC) will be held today at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi, presided over by the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Virendra Kumar.

The Council will deliberate on key issues concerning the welfare of senior citizens. This will foster better coordination among ministries and promote the dignity, safety, and well-being of senior citizens under the ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’ initiative.

On the occasion, the Ministry will also unveil “SNEHA – Stories of Nurturing, Engagement, Happiness & Active Ageing,” an e-book highlighting the key initiatives, events, and achievements of the Senior Citizen Division from October 2024 to June 2026.

The meeting will be attended by officials from central and state governments, along with experts on senior citizen issues and representatives from national commissions, associations of senior citizens and pensioners, and non-governmental organizations.
